Abundant natural light creates a warm, inviting mood. Place windows above the sink overlooking the garden. Skylights let light filter down from above. Glass cabinet fronts and doors also allow light to spread. Avoid situating windows directly behind appliances.


Ventilate Properly

Proper ventilation clears cooking fumes and odours. Install powerful cooker hoods, extractor fans and outdoor air vents. Make sure venting leads directly outside and not into wall cavities.


Design for Accessibility

Make sure your kitchen design is accessible to users of all mobility levels. Install pull-out taps, front-controlled cookers, and adjustable shelving and cabinets. Keep frequently used items within reach.
